The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Monday, July 5 reveals Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) wants to make every moment count.

Also coming up, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will plan separate takeovers of Locke communications and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) will come home. Plus, Phyllis will once again interrupt Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) as he’s talking to Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).

Y&R spoilers tease Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will tell his son at Crimson Lights that they’re moving to the ranch. He’ll be excited. Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will come to their table and Adam will also tell her. “We’ll be neighbors,” she’ll say. Surely Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will not be so pleased.

Later, Jack will run into Sally. She’ll tell him she’s starting her new job as head of JCV. He’ll say the best part is she came through it honestly. “No scheming, no ploys – you should be very proud of yourself.” She’ll smile and act as though she didn’t actually scheme to get the position.

Sally and Jack will sit at a table and Phyllis will arrive. She’ll sit down with them and ask them how it’s going. They’ll look at her as though she’s from another planet. Sally will tell her she’s the new head of JCV and Summer Newman (Hunter King) recommended her. Phyllis won’t believe it. Then Jack will drag Phyllis away from the table. After Sally leaves, he’ll tell her he can get together with Sally whenever he pleases. Then Phyllis will convince him to have dinner with her tonight, instead of Sally.

Meanwhile, Billy will find out the doctor who recently visited Ashland is an oncologist specializing in late stage cancer. Billy thinks Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is angling for a seat on the board at Locke Communications. “What if Chance Comm takes over Locke Communications Group?” he’ll suggest. “Are you seriously proposing that we take advantage of a dying man?” Lily will counter.

Victor, on the other hand, has no qualms about taking advantage of a dying man. Adam will tell him he found out Locke cancelled a planned trip to LA. “I don’t give a damn how ill Locke is,” Victor will tell his son. “You and I need to use this information and jump on it.”

Finally, Ashland will be having some chest problems and Victoria will ask if she can help him. “Do you have a time machine?” he’ll joke. She’ll ask if he’d be willing to get treatment for his illness. He’ll say it’s too late for that. But it’s not to late to make every moment count “starting with this one.” Then he’ll take her in his arms and kiss her.
