Young And The Restless Scoop August 8: Victoria Orders Nikki To Back Off Nate – Phyllis Pleads Guilty To Protect Summer – Audra Scrambles

The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Tuesday, August 8 reveals Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will insist Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) leave her COO alone.

Also coming up, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will confide her troubles to Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). Plus, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will appeal to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). And Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will take the plea deal to protect her daughter.

Y&R spoilers tease Abby will arrive at Jabot to plead with Jack. She wants him to make peace with Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson). She’ll say she’d like to put the tension behind, especially since Ashley and Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) are getting married next week at the Chancellor estate. “She’s going ahead with this farce of a marriage?” Jack will ask. Then he’ll say as long as Ashley hates Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters), there will be no peace. However, Jack will eventually agree to make one last effort.

Y&R Daily Scoop – Phyllis Takes Plea Deal To Avoid Trial

At the GCAC, Phyllis will tell Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) everything, including Tucker’s involvement with her star witness and Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) role. “This all happened because you hate Diane so much,” Summer will say. “You went to such extremes to prove your point, look at where we are.” Phyllis will admit it kills her that her kids now doubt every word that comes out of her mouth. “You don’t have any ethics, you don’t have any shame and I’m finally seeing it now,” Summer will say. “You’re never going to change.”

After Summer leaves, Phyllis will make a call and arrive at Crimson Lights, where Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) and Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) are waiting for her. “I’m taking the deal,” Phyllis will say. “I’ll plead guilty to avoid a trial. I need to protect my daughter at all costs.”

At Newman Enterprises, Nate and Victoria will arrive at her office, to find Nikki there. Nate will get an urgent text from Audra and make an excuse to leave. “Apparently you didn’t waste any time while I was away, putting Nate on the spot and grilling him,” Victoria will say to her mother. But Nikki will tell her daughter not to overreact. She’ll say she’s known Nate a long time. “But your father and I naturally have some questions.” She’ll also mention that Nate said he eventually wanted to have her job. “I guess I’m going to have to watch my back a bit more.”

Meanwhile, Nate will head to Audra’s and she’ll ask him to keep what she tells him completely confidential. “It’s heavy, the fate of Newman Media might be on the line.” Nate will ask what she’s gotten herself into. She’ll say it’s a mess to do with Tucker. He’ll guess it’s something to do with McCall. “Did Adam dig up something that compromises your executive role?” Nate will ask. “Is he the threat?”

Then Audra will tell him everything about the statutory rape cover up and about Adam’s blackmail. She’ll say if she doesn’t do what Adam wants he’ll go to the press and her career will be over. Nate will say he doesn’t think there’s anything she could be charged with. However, the professional stain could be hard wash off and she might be unemployable for a while. Not to mention, if she manages to sell Adam’s merger idea, she would end up in a much weaker position at Newman Media. But Audra will be insistent. “I need you to work your magic and convince Victoria,” she’ll tell Nate.

Back at Newman, Victoria will point out Nate is a strong leader, which is good for the company. “He also made another interesting statement, he said he didn’t love you,” Nikki will say. “So please tell me that you’re not falling in love with him.” Victoria will say she enjoys working with Nate and seeing him outside the office but she’s not in love with him.

Finally, Victoria will tell Nikki not to worry, she’s enjoying her life. “I appreciate your motherly and your business instincts around here but I have to ask you, in regards to Nate, to back off. I insist on it.” But is Victoria going to regret putting way too much trust in Nate?
