The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Friday, May 10 reveals Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will accuse Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) of overreacting.
Also coming up, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will consider a plan to retaliate against Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Plus, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will spar with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) over Claire Grace (Hayley Erin). And Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will be suspicious.
Y&R spoilers tease Jack will ask Diane if she wants to leave and she’ll say no. But she doesn’t want to take the chance her anger at him could cause him to relapse. “It was an emergency, I made a choice in the moment, a hail Mary, and it worked,” Jack will say.

Diane will ask him to go to a 12-step meeting and he’ll agree to it. Then he’ll tell her he’s so sorry. “It’s going to take more than an apology for me to be okay with what happened,” an angry Diane will tell him, as she storms off.
At Chancellor Park, Summer will snark to Phyllis about Claire. “It’s exactly what I told Kyle I didn’t want,” she’ll say. “Claire all over Harrison.” Then Phyllis and Summer will walk over and Phyllis will ask how this gathering came about. “It was a happy coincidence,” Kyle will reply. Phyllis will introduce herself to Claire as Harrison Locke’s (Redding Munsell) very protective grandma.
Then Summer will tell Harrison they need to get him home for lunch. He’ll ask if Claire can come too. But Claire will make up an excuse and leave. Victoria will tell Kyle to think about what she said, as she heads off with Claire. Phyllis will walk off with Harrison and Summer will turn to Kyle. “How could you do this to me?” she’ll ask.
But Kyle will say Claire and Harrison were barely out of sight. “I was very clear on how I felt about Claire spending time with our son,” Summer will tell him. “I asked for one thing, that you keep Claire away from Harrison.” She’ll point out maybe she’s also going through trauma and doesn’t want to see Claire’s face.
Then she’ll ask what Victoria meant before she left. But Kyle will lie and say she just wants people to give her daughter a chance. “You’re just going to ignore all of my boundaries from here on out?” Summer will ask.
Meanwhile, Diane will go over some work at Crimson Lights and Phyllis will walk in and complain about Claire. “Don’t you think it’s weird that she’s spending so much time with Harrison, a sweet, vulnerable little boy?” she’ll ask Diane. “What exactly is that about?”

But Diane won’t want to get into it and tell Phyllis she’s stirring up trouble. “This girl could be a psycho in training,” Phyllis will reply. Diane will say they’ve both been called psychos themselves. “So all this finger pointing?” she’ll add. “It’s not a good look for either of us.”
Then Phyllis will say Kyle wants Claire to be Harrison’s nanny and they should intervene, along with Jack. However, Diane will say she’s not going to talk to Jack about this. “What is going on with you?” Phyllis will ask.
In Victor’s dungeon, Jordan (Colleen Zenk) will tell The Mustache she’s got a skill set he needs. And Victor will say it’ll be at a time of his choosing. But Jordan wants a little hint. “I think you want me to do your dirty work and I think I’m right,” she’ll say. “My hands are already washed in blood, what’s a little more?” But Victor will just pull out another bottle of vodka for her and leave.
Upstairs, Victoria will meet up with Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck). They’ll talk to Victor about how Kyle and Summer are looking for a new nanny for Harrison and Claire wants to work with kids. So, Victor will ask what the problem is. “Summer actually,” Victoria will reply. So, she’ll ask him to talk to Summer about it.
“I won’t do that,” he’ll reply. “As much as I would love to help Claire, I don’t want her subjected to the toxicity of the Abbott household.” He’ll say she’d be in close contact with both Jack and Diane. Plus, he wants her working at Newman Enterprises, alongside Victoria, who will say she’s not sure if she’s ever going to return.
Victor will blow a gasket and ask Victoria how she could say such a thing. But he’ll also insist he doesn’t want Claire anywhere around Jack. And Victoria will ask if he’s planning some kind of retaliation against his rival. “I’m not planning a damn thing, all right?” Victor will reply.
Finally, when Victor leaves the room, Victoria will tell Cole her father is definitely planning something, and he doesn’t want them anywhere near the Abbott’s when it happens. But would Victor really use Jordan against Jack?
