The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop suggests mainstream Hollywood media went too far with soap fans when they tried to malign Sasha Calle (Lola Rosales).
When the news broke that Calle had nabbed the role of Supergirl in the upcoming DC Comics film The Flash, some writers dissed her for being a soap opera actress.
But many seem to have a short memory. Have they forgotten a lot of now famous (and award winning) film and television actors got their first acting gigs on soaps? Fans haven’t forgotten that fact, however.
Young And The Restless News – Many Big Stars Got Their Start On Soap Operas
“Really happy for Sasha Calle! And lol at people going a soap opera actress really?” one fan posted on Twitter. “Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael B. Jordan, Demi Moore, Brad Pitt, Justin Hartley, John Stamos, Laurence Fishburne, Julienne Moore etc. all soap actors people.”

“The disrespect the genre still gets today from people on this app…” another fan said. “When some of your faves have started out on a SOAP OPERA.”
Another person who gave Calle a huge thumbs up was TV’s Supergirl Melissa Benoist. She welcomed the actress to the DC Comics family with open arms and wished her success in the role.
Young And The Restless News – Sasha Calle Still Trying To Absorb The News
Calle will be DC Comics first Latina Supergirl. “This still hasn’t fully hit me,” she wrote on her Instagram page. “I’m starting to cry as I type this because I know it’s me in that video…but I still can’t believe it.
“Thank you to every person attached that has believed in me every step of the way. Thank you to my incredible team. I couldn’t have done it without you. I love you deeply.”
