Young And The Restless News: Paul Williams Talks To Chance Chancellor

The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop suggests Doug Davidson, who plays Genoa City Police Chief Paul Williams, may be turning in his badge.

“I just want to thank you again for all your support,” he posted, in a message to his fans, on Twitter last night. “But I think I am done. After 43 years I am treated like a day player. No Bueno.”

Fans immediately expressed their appreciation for the actor. “”You deserve so much better than this & you are loved by so many of us!” one fan commented. “Don’t give up. We love you,” another said.

Young And The Restless News – Davidson On The Soap For More Than 40 Years

After being on the Y&R for more than 40 years, Davidson was let go in September 2018. At the time, Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) let producers know how he felt on social media. “I have just learned that the wonderful Doug Davidson has been fired…This is a disgrace.”

But this may not be the end for Chief Williams. Davidson’s fans and co-stars have rallied to his defense before. After he was let go in 2018, fans started a petition to bring him back.

Then in early 2019, Braeden appealed to the powers that be to return the actor to his rightful place. And it worked. Braeden posted a photo of he and Davidson on his Twitter account in February 2019. “He’s Back!!” he captioned it.

Young And The Restless News – Have Fans Seen The Last Of Paul Williams?

Davidson returned to the show in March 2019 and continued to make the occasional appearance. But fans haven’t seen him since Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) was shot. Paul and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) investigated the case and then Paul seemed to disappear.

But have fans seen the last of Davidson and Genoa City Police Chief Paul Willams?

Paul come back to GC. We need a great storyline to make him the terrific actor that he IS. Please consider from both parties! This would be so much more interesting for longtime viewers and newer viewers most likely will agree. He has always been the hero, gentleman and heartwarming person since John Abbott! He and Jack could be the role model of the baby boomers that love them. We need this to awaken the spirit of honesty and delightful caring friends. Also again break this radical romance with Jack and the bad girl Sally. She is a snake, get rid of her and bring a lovely kind and strong woman in for Jack. He needs this in his life, no more trifling flings, just old fashioned love and passion! He is a grandfather so let him delight in this new loving life for all to see his happiness grow.
