The General Hospital (GH) scoop for the week of July 6 hints at a further look into Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) relationships with his children.
As many viewers are aware, GH has run out of original episodes to air. This is due to a halt in production because of the COVID-19 pandemic. But that doesn’t mean ABC is going to leave fans in the lurch. GH has been airing episodes based on weekly themes. The soap is reportedly planning to resume production sometime in July, so hopefully fans will see new episodes soon.
On Monday, Sonny had big plans to turn his life around, but instead dealt with a devastating situation. Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) took a bullet that was intended for his dad, in this episode that first aired on April 4, 2008.

On Wednesday, Michael goes to prison for his crime, in this episode that originally ran on September 30, 2010. Although the judge had some sympathy for Sonny’s son, he still felt that killing someone must come with consequences and he sent Michael to jail.
After a terrible bus crash, Kristina Corinthos (Lexi Ainsworth) mourned the death of one of her friends on Thursday’s GH. She told her father, when he visited her in the hospital, that she felt incredibly guilty.
General Hospital Scoop – Sonny Corinthos Comforted His Daughter Kristina
Sonny comforted his daughter, in this episode that first aired January 6, 2011. He assured Kristina that her feelings were understandable, but she was not responsible for her friend’s death.
Finally on Friday, when Sonny witnessed his daughter Kristina kissing an older woman, he questioned her about it. She told her father that although she was involved with Parker Forsyth (Ashley Jones), she was confused about her sexuality. Sonny told her he would love her no matter what. This episode first aired on July 25, 2016.
This is the second week in a row of Sonny-centric episodes, not to mention the tribute to Sonny and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) that aired a few weeks ago. And a lot of viewers aren’t pleased, to say the least. “Fans ask you for Classic Laura, Quartermaine, Webber episodes,” one fan posted on Twitter. “And you give us more of what we don’t want: CarSon. Bye.”
There are so many other great characters and couples who could have been highlighted in these classic theme weeks, but producers seem to have tunnel vision, unfortunately. Keep reading The Soap Scoop for more General Hospital spoilers and news. And make sure you join our free GH Facebook Group.
