The Days Of Our Lives (DOOL) scoop reveals the soap will move from NBC to the Peacock streaming service, beginning September 12, 2022.
DOOL has aired on regular cable television for the past 57 years and this change will be a tough pill for many viewers to swallow. But will the show ultimately survive on the streaming channel?
“This programming shift benefits both Peacock and NBC and is reflective of our broader strategy to utilize our portfolio to maximize reach and strengthen engagement with viewers,” Mark Lazarus, NBC Universal Television And Streaming Chairman, announced today.
DOOL Scoop – Fans Aren’t As Confident As The Chairman
“With a large percentage of the Days of Our Lives audience already watching digitally, this move enables us to build the show’s loyal fanbase on streaming.” He also stated that DOOL’s timeslot will be replaced with a live news show.

Fans aren’t half as confident as NBC’s chairman seems to be. “Very, very, bad move,” one fan commented on Twitter. “No #DAYS on NBC is like not breathing,” another fan said. “I will watch on Peacock and hope it survives this HUGE letdown.”
“I still haven’t recovered from #SearchForTomorrow being cancelled in 1986 and now NBC is giving #DaysOfOurLives the boot?” another viewer posted. “What more can they do to me?” Another viewer said they may as well kiss the show goodbye.
Days Of Our Lives Scoop – Older Viewers Will Not Be Able To Watch
International fans, specifically from Canada, were also concerned how the change could affect them. There are also a lot of older viewers who may never have even heard of streaming or know what it is. So, they may simply no longer be able to watch their favorite soap.
One thing’s for sure. It’s the end of an era. There remain only three soaps left on network cable channels, CBS’ Young And The Restless and Bold And The Beautiful and ABC’s General Hospital.
Ummm… Hey @nbc moving @daysofourlives to @peacockTV my sound like a grand plan, but what about the seniors who have dedicated years to the show and may not have @peacockTV or even Cable? #DaysofOurLives #NBC pic.twitter.com/o0fFRkMYAx
